Britney Spears

After the recent Tiger King documentary was released on the streaming platform Netflix, many have become more aware of the big cat industry and just how deep its roots lie. And here, we see how those roots helped support the 2001 VMA performance by none other than Britney Spears.

Twitter

While not supported by the Tiger King himself, this act was encouraged by Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, another supplier of big cats. He was able to help the VMAs use live tigers during Spears’ performance. While it’s true that the tigers added an extra element to the show, some now find the decision controversial.

Floyd Mayweather

If you’re into the world of boxing, you know about Floyd Mayweather. The man is practically a sensation. Holding both an unparalleled record of wins and an impeccable technique, the fame makes sense. But one thing you might not have known about Mayweather is that he also paid a visit to Doc Antle’s Myrtle Beach Safari.

Instagram

The man is shown here on the safari’s Instagram, posing with various big cats and other exotic animals. There’s something about boxing perhaps (think about Mike Tyson, who also loves big cats) that draws one toward the potentially vicious.

Logan Paul

Logan Paul might be a little lesser known on this list, but he is similarly sensationalized. After having rode the early YouTube years, he was skyrocketed to fame and stardom with his goofy and eccentric videos. If you feel like killing some brain cells, give them a watch.

Instagram via @loganpaul

Paul also felt the need to recently visit the Myrtle Beach Safari. Shown here on their Instagram, Paul can be seen posing with many exotic cats and other wild animals. Fortunately, Paul didn’t seem curious about the prospect of owning any of these wild animals.

Post Malone

Post Malone has quickly skyrocketed to become one of the most famous modern musicians around. His hit song “Circles” became so widespread that you have to have heard it. And beyond his music, he’s even gone on to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in the movie Spenser Confidential

Instagram via @postmalone

And, like many others, Malone has a strong fascination with the giant majestic cats of this world. To get up close and personal with them, he decided to give Doc Antle’s Myrtle Beach Safari a visit. And this is where we have him, holding the likes of a cute Siberian white tiger cub.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Backham Jr. is a famous football player currently playing for the Cleveland Browns. While he is rumored for a trade to another team, the Vikings, nothing is yet certain. What is certain, however, is that we can see Beckham Jr. getting some quality time with Doc Antle’s big cats.

Instagram via @myrtlebeachsafari

The allure of the majestic creatures isn’t lost on many. And so, when you can afford to see the up close and personal, without the fear of being mauled into a less palatable version of your beautiful self, few skip a beat. And that’s why we see Beckham petting a rare species of Siberian tiger.

Beyoncé

More than just big cats, many of these now notorious tiger trainers has other wildlife attractions as well. Doc Antle, for instance, owns the extremely popular Myrtle Beach Safari, which hosts the likes of everything from Chimpanzees to exotic bird species. One day, the park had a visit from Beyoncé.

Instagram via @Beyonce

Here, we see the park joyfully reminiscing on the star’s appearance. She seems to be joyful as well. We get it — hanging out with our closest living ancestor is enough to induce a smile in the most calloused of human. Beyoncé likely didn’t know the Safari would soon be embroiled in controversy.

Dan Haggerty

Dan Haggerty — better known by the name he played on TV, Grizzly Adams — is quite the persona. Equal parts meat, heft, and beard, he is quite the formidable presence to endure. When stacked in comparison to a handful of big cats, however, weighing anywhere from 150 to 680 pounds, he is easily dwarfed.

Youtube

Haggerty, while he recently passed at 74 years of age, had a fond love for animals. While this much could be ascertained by a mere look at his beard (who with a beard that large wouldn’t love animals?), more evidence was given by his appearance at Joe Exotic’s G.W. Zoo.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert is a well-known singer in the country music scene, having released songs like “Kerosene” and “Mama’s Broken Heart.” She’s also a known animal rights advocate. So when people saw her newly released “throwback” pic with Joe Exotic, some people felt she had questions to answer.

Instagram

Regardless, the singer-songwriter has a love for large and exotic creatures (just look at her ex-husband!). Because of this, she felt the need to get up close and personal. And whether that was the right decision is not ours to make.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton is one of those real estate mogul heiress who somehow gleaned tremendous fame. while her time in the actual spotlight might have been brief (I’m glad the phrase “It’s hot” has been buried in a shallow grave), she used that fame and fortune to see some big cats.

Instagram via @parishilton

While Hilton didn’t visit either the now notorious G.W. Zoo or the Myrtle Beach Safari — at least not to our knowledge — she did visit a comparable location in Mexico called the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation. While we don’t know much about the organization, we do know the animals are cute.

Maisie Williams

The Game of Thrones actor, who played none other than the Stark-turned-assassin, Arya, has visited Big Cat Rescue — another of the large cat players on the Tiger King show. While Big Cat Rescue doesn’t let people get as up close and personal, they still offer an exclusive ability to photograph the cute creatures.

Wikipedia

Arya’s fondness for wildlife is well-known (hence her arrival to Big Cat Rescue). Her family adopted around 13 dogs as she was growing up, so wildlife was never in short supply. Her love clearly traveled with her as she aged, which is why she shows her love to Big Cat Rescue.

Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford, the actor famous from his numerous blockbuster roles as Indiana Jones and Han Solo from the original castings of Star Wars, has made a point to try and save the diminishing big cat population everywhere. And part of his efforts have landed him at Carole Baskin’s Big Cat Rescue.

Pinterest

Here, we see Ford doing some arts and crafts while in the facility (probably tiger themed). You can see Baskin in the background performing some sort of routine maintenance. What’s she doing is anybody’s guess. We’re proud of Ford for supporting this initiative. Big cats need all the help they can get!

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio is well known for his conservation efforts. Not only does he donate massive amounts of money to numerous ordinations oriented around the preservation of wildlife and natural splendor, but he makes public appearances as well.

Youtube

While it’s not certain he’s shown up specifically to any of these big cat locations, he has spoken out about the private ownership of big cats in general. After the tragedy that ensued in Ohio (when several dozen privately owned big cats escaped and had to be euthanized) he became especially vocal.

Tippi Hedren

Tippi Hedren is perhaps of the stars on this list that is the most familiar with big cats. Having started in a movie, entitled Roar, that featured a family succumb to living with an abundance of the giant creatures, she knows them inside and out.

Kim Bartlett – Animal People, Inc. via Flickr

Here, however, she decided to stop and pay a visit to Shambhala Preserve. The reasons in fact might have stemmed from her love of big cats. Whatever it was, her heart is in the conservation game, which is why she showed up at this foundation. And our heart is with Tippi.

Kate Walsh

Kate Walsh is an actor most of know from her performances in Grey’s Anatomy. Playing the timeless character of Dr. Addison Montgomery, she gave the show some much needed backbone. But she’s also appeared in movies like The Perks of Being A Wallflower.

Instagram

In her spare time, however, the actor has also shown her fascination with big cats. There are pictures of the actor (offscreen, of course) playing around with baby lions. Fortunately for her, they were more cute and cuddly than hungry. Like Hilton, she visited the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation to see these cats.

Katy Perry

Kate Perry is arguably one of the best known pop singers in the world. With songs like “Roar,” “Firefly,” and “Last Friday Night,” that’s no surprise. What might be a surprise, however, is her love for large felines. And that’s what prompted her to visit another big cat sanctuary: the Black Jaguar White Tiger facility.

Instagram

Here, she is shown posing with one of the cubs of the facility. She has her distinct died short hair, which provides and interesting contrast with the cub’s natural light tan coat. The cub is cute, that is something we can’t deny. We wish we could pet a cute little cub like this. We probably never will, though.

Michael Jackson

while Michael Jackson didn’t necessarily visit the G.W. Zoo, he is purported to have been affiliated with it (even if that affiliation was created posthumously). After Jackson passed away in 2009, the animals of his estate were apparently transferred ownership to Joe Exotic’s zoo.

Pinterest

The animals he is purported to have gained were his alligators and crocodile. Sadly, these animals were destroyed in the fire that took Joe’s studio. Now, whoever blazed that fire will remain a mystery. Still, we mourn for the loss of the beautiful animal life.

Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone, while not having visit the G.W. Zoo per se, has definitely not shied away from the show’s growing popularity. Recently, for example, he felt it’d be fun to dress as Jeff from the show, the man who eventually took (and still has) ownership of Joe’s zoo.

Instagram

Stallone and his daughter on shown here on the Tiger King’s Instagram mimicking some of the shows most popular characters. While we don’t know if Stallone has visited the zoo, it’s clear he has been kicked up in the same fan fervor as all of us. We just wish we could pull off those looks as well …

Shaquille O’Neal

Most of us have a fascination with big cats in some way or another. And most of us satisfy this fascination by either going to the zoo or watching a Planet Earth documentary. Some of us, however, like famous basketball player Shaquille O’Neal, go one step further and visit with the now infamous Tiger King.

G.W. ZOO/INSTAGRAM

While the 7″1′ tall man visited Mr. Joe Exotic — the so-called “Tiger King” — before his recently acquired documentary fame, that doesn’t mean he’s off the hook with many of his fans. Many were offended to learn he visited the mullet-wielding man. But hey, did he really know all that was going on?

Jay Leno

Doc Antle, having performed as an animal trainer on many famous shows and movies like Ace Ventura, Pet Detective, has given him lots of credit in the animal world. So much so, in fact, that he has been invited on late night talk shows with many famous celebrities.

One of these was Jay Leno. The chin-wielding man had Doc and one his ligers (yes, the tiger-lion half-breed) on the show. The giant beast was fed from a squirting milk bottle. While very cute, we wonder the thoughts of terror that might have passed through Leno’s mind.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore is arguably one of the most famous actors around. While she’s receded from the limelight a bit in the past few years, she definitely experienced a height of fame in the early 2000s. Anyways, she is another of the people who have posed with some of these beautiful Tiger King cats.

Pinterest

For Vogue magazine, for instance, Barrymore posed with Aslan, a big lion from Doc Antle’s Myrtle Beach Safari. The majestic beast was employed for a photo competition. All we can really say here is that the photo is quite formidable. I mean, just look at that mane!

Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere is perhaps best known for her performance on the show Heroes. Here, she played the cheerleader, a main protagonist with a troubled past. In real life, her troubles are no where that great. But she also doesn’t (spoiler alert) have superpowers. So there’s that.

Twitter

Being the animal lover that she is, Panettiere decided to pay a visit to her little chimpanzee friend. Sanctuaries like the G.W. Zoo, Myrtle Beach Safari, and others are the places to go if you want to see these guys up close. Then you might be able to hug them like this.

Andrew Zimmern

Andrew Zimmern is another famous and quirky chef. Many of us know Zimmern from his show Bizarre Foods. But he’s been in numerous other culinary ventures. Wherever you’ve heard of him, you would have seen him in his trademark circular glasses.

Instagram

And that’s how we see him here. After having paid a visit to the Myrtle Beach Safari, the man is shown posing with some of the facility’s beautiful wildlife. He definitely had to wear his glasses for this one — you can’t pose in a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity and not see what you’re posing with. He chose wisely.

Jason London

Jason London, known most prominently from his role in the hit TV classic Dazed and Confused, is another if the celebs we’ve seen visit the up close and personal G.W. Zoo. And, like many of the other celebrities that have visited Joe Exotic, he got a mention on the man’s YouTube channel.

YouTube

In the video, you can see him chatting with Joe and posing with tigers and other exotic animals — the typical experience at G.W. Zoo. We don’t know the man’s opinions of the recently launched documentary.

The Undertaker

The WWE is an interesting enterprise. Having produced the likes of the Rock, now an extremely famous actor, other wrestlers are similarly getting recognition. The Undertaker, among the most recognizable and most well-known legends of wrestling.

Instagram

Here, we see the “deadman” himself posing with his wife alongside one of the smaller additions to Antle’s team — a baby cub. Perhaps it just goes to show that even one of the scariest hearts in wrestling can be tamed by the soothing presence of a baby cub.

Naomie Olindo

Naomie Olindo is best known from her role in the TV show Southern Charm on Bravo. This game got her special access to a few of the attractions at Doc Antle’s Myrtle Beach Safari — and also a bit of amplified recognition from the park.

Instagram

On Antle’s Instagram, for instance, you are treated to an image of her with a cheetah atop their counter top. While perhaps not the most sanitary picture we’ve seen, it’s definitely cute. While we wouldn’t recommend you try this at home, we can’t say you shouldn’t ball in amazement.

Kate Winslet

Like Leno, Kate Winslet was treated to a visit from this liger while it was featured on the show. The magnificent beast is shown here, lying down and posing with the group. So we have Doc, Winslet, and Leno all besides the centerpiece of the photo: the giant liger.

Instagram

Winslet is best known for her leading role in the movie Titanic, but has started in numerous others films such as The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Contagion. Ultimately, the actor’s career has been just as large and in charge as the liger she’s pictured next to.

Bobby Flay

Bobby Flay is one of the most famous TV chef personalities around. He even has a show oriented around him and his cooking entitled Beat Bobby Flay. Anyway, the man is not alone in his fascination for cooking. He’s also not alone in his fascination with giant cats.

Instagram

Here, he’s seen posing with his wife alongside a baby tiger in the Myrtle Beach Safari park. While the two surely wish the tiger cub was their baby, it most definitely is not. We hope the curiosity was not one of taste, but rather one of admiration.

James Thompson

James Thompson is best known for his thriving music career. Born in Frankfurt Germany, the man dazzled with the violin. Some of these talents he showcased alongside Doc Antle’s big cats.

Instagram

In a video posted on the Myrtle Beach Safari’s social media, for instance, we see Thompson attempting to serenade one of the facility’s many tigers. While we can’t speak to the efficacy of his attempts, we can say he’s likely never played to such an audience before.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is perhaps best known to us from her performance in the Twilight series. Having launched her career to heights she likely never expected, she want on from the vampiric pale skin of the Twilight universe into one where she played everything from rock legends to vagabond fan girls.

Facebook

In her real life, Stewart is another animal lover. While the ethics of visiting these animals close up is ambiguous (and sometimes very bad), it’s never that clear from the outside. Here, we see her petting holding a little cub. Very cute.

Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is another of the pop stars on her list. While perhaps not as famous as Katy Perry or Beyoncé, she does have a handful of hits that most of us have heard. Among these are the likes of “I’m Ready” and “I Love Me.” Another thing she loves, however, is cute little tigers.

Instagram

And the latter fact is what lead her to visit the Black Jaguar White Tiger sanctuary in Mexico. While now controversial, she likely didn’t know that. Regardless, what she got here is to pose with some of the cutest little animals around (before, of course, they got all that dangerous).
