Guaranty Bank offers the online check cashing feature just like most banks. What makes them different is that they allow you to utilize the service even if you do not have an account with them. However, both account holders and non-account holders have to pay a fee. The fee for account holders is a little less though.
The Check Cashing store app serves the basic needs of an online check cashing app. It allows you to cash a check and deposit the money straight into your bank account or load it onto a prepaid card. You just take a picture of the check and upload it. Once the check clears, it notifies you and you have your funds. There are fees associated with using this service, but it isn’t disclosed on the website.
Ingo Money app offers a lot more than other third-party online check cashing option. It is backed by a bank, First Century Bank, N.A., so it feels a bit more reliable. You can link it with either your bank account, a PayPal account, or even a prepaid card to have your money deposited onto once the check clears. You can even split the check to deposit into different accounts or even to purchase an Amazon gift card! There are fees for using the service. 2% if you’re cashing payroll and government-issued checks. For all other checks, the fee is a minimum of $5 or 5% of the check amount. Unfortunately, though, it is only available on Android devices.
Should you use it?
There is understandably some apprehension when thinking about cashing a check through your phone. Yet, the process pretty secure. When you take the photo of the check, It has to be approved and cleared. Very similar to when checks were written in stores and they were pushed through that little machine or when you conduct any other online transaction. When cashing a check online you are advised to hold on to the paper copy for two weeks just in case something goes awry. If you’re very skeptical, try it with a check with a small amount first. Before you know it, you’ll be loving the convenience and you’ll start using it for all paper checks that come your way!
