Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan

The roots of Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan’s relationship stem way back. Indeed, it’s important to remember that these types of relationships should be commended in their own right, considering it’s hard to maintain one under such circumstances.

In addition to having a relationship going back 16 years, their beginnings weren’t exactly conventional. They first met at a fraternity party at Harvard University, where Zuckerberg allegedly told her they needed to start dating soon because he was worried he was going to get kicked out for his campus app called “FaceMash.”

 Larry Page & Lucinda Southworth

Lucinda Southworth first met Larry Page at a remote island in the Caribbean owned by billionaire Richard Branson. They eventually tied the knot, and their star-studded wedding was filled with guests like Oprah Winfrey and even — reportedly — a few past presidents may have been in attendance, too.

The couple have also proved to be quite the dynamic professional force, too, with a combined net worth of about $50 billion. Most of this can probably be attributed to the fact that Page is one of the cofounders of Google, which has a valuation of about $300 billion. Southworth is a graduate from Stanford and Oxford University and is also frequently involved in charity work.

Sergey Brin & Anne Wojcicki

While they’re now separated, it’s worthy to note that Sergey Brin, another cofounder of Google, certainly added his fair share to their overall net worth; but so did Anne Wojcicki, who co-founded 23andMe — a personal genomics company that helps trace anyone’s genealogical tree.

Wojcicki has done plenty both creatively and professionally, with a net worth of just under $700 million. So both entrepreneurs have done plenty, but why did they split up? While the answer to this is relatively unknown, it didn’t seem to affect Brin, nor Google, as the company is doing just fine; and Brin married soon afterward.

Charles & Liz Koch

You know him as a staunch political figure; Charles Koch has accrued quite the wealth for himself. His net worth is somewhere around the stratosphere of $50.9 billion as of 2015. He’s headed up multiple partisan think tanks and is CEO and chairman of Koch Industries.

His wife has been moderately active on the charity spectrum, too. With perhaps some of his help, Liz headed up a trust that was tasked with giving financial support to budding artists from a variety of genres.

David Koch & Julia Flesher

Julia Flesher almost instantly became one of the richest women after the passing of billionaire David Koch. He had a net worth of about $53.5 billion, and after his passing, he turned over much of the assets to his surviving wife. However, there was quite a surplus left over, including his real estate assets.

It is estimated there is more than $143 million left over in those real estate assets, but, according to Business Insider, it is not yet known how those assets will be split up. Either way, it’s safe to say Flesher will be in good hands in the long run.

Rupert Murdoch & Jerry Hall

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch married Jerry Hall in 2016, which came about 17 years after she was married to Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger. And it’s hard to fault her, given Murdoch has a net worth of approximately $20 billion. It is worthy of note, too, there’s a 25-year age gap between the two.

Proving the old adage that “age is just a number,” the pair have been going strong ever since they were first noticed on the public radar during the rugby championships in London in late 2015. Just a few months later, they announced their engagement, much to the surprise of critics and spectators.

George Lucas & Mellody Hobson

It took about seven years of courting for George Lucas to finally pop the question to his then-girlfriend Mellody Hobson. But it seems that good things truly come to those who wait, as they’ve been going strong in their marriage since they exchanged vows in 2013.

You have to give the two some credit given their diligence on the professional level, too. Through her education at Princeton and postcollegiate advances, Hobson became president at Ariel Investments; she also took on a vice chair role at Starbucks. As for Lucas, his success in the film industry is impressive to say the least.

Michael Jordan & Yvette Prieto

Basketball legend Michael Jordan certainly knew how to pick up the pieces after he parted ways with former spouse Juanita Vanoy — who received a lofty sum of $168 million after the settlement — by marrying Cuban model Yvette Prieto. While he’s 15 years her senior, you have to give the man credit for keeping the dating game strong after all those years.

For Prieto, she entered a marriage that certainly increased her potential net worth, which is already at a reasonable sum of $5 million. However, that pales in comparison to the Charlotte Hornets owner’s overall worth of about $2 billion.

Oprah Winfrey & Stedman Graham

This pair truly separates themselves from the rest of the pack when it comes to an odd couple; especially given the fact they’re technically not married. In fact, according to Today, they consider themselves in a “spiritual partnership,” despite Graham popping the question to her back in 1993.

In the interview with Today, Oprah stated they both knew a marriage wouldn’t survive the “day-in-day-out commitment required to make a marriage work. My life with the show was my priority, and we both knew it.” Graham is also busy, with multiple books over his career and other projects.

Jerry & Jessica Seinfeld

This lovely couple met in a pretty unorthodox way — as would probably be expected with a Jerry Seinfeld relationship — at a Reebok gym during an exercise class. What can be easily concluded is Jessica must have been quite enamored with him from the get-go; but her past prior to meeting Jerry may surprise you …

Before meeting Jerry at the gym, Jessica had been married to Eric Nederlander for two months. However, after meeting Jerry, she divorced Nederlander soon afterward; and the two eventually tied the knot a little more than a year after they first met. Talk about controversy!

Harrison Ford & Calista Flockhart

While Calista Flockhart is probably not known for being a forefront figure in her relationship with Harrison Ford, she has cultivated quite the career for herself nonetheless. In addition to winning awards at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards, Flockhart has also been nominated for multiple Emmys, too. Some of her more popular films include The Birdcage, Fragile, and the TV series Ally McBeal.

As for Harrison, he needs no introduction. Ford has been a power celebrity, especially during the ’70s and ’80s, with blockbuster hits like the Star Wars trilogy, Apocalypse Now, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Miranda Kerr & Evan Spiegel

Perhaps one of the most influential couples on this list, Snapchat cofounder Evan Spiegel and Mirander Kerr certainly wield a fair amount of power. Kerr is a notorious name and brand in the fashion industry, and first encountered moderate success when she became one of the Victoria’s Secret “Angels” in 2007.

While they were first reported to be dating in 2015, they were allegedly friends well before that. Two years later, they became newlyweds. Their reception was filled with decadence, too, with only 45 guests in attendance; however, these attendees were of a high profile, with many being models and prominent figures.

Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are perhaps one of the most intriguing royal couples to have ever graced the hallways of Buckingham Palace (albeit they had a very fleeting stay). One of the main reasons for this is because their marriage — and Markle’s induction into the royal family — marked a special occasion, given Markle’s African-American ancestry and acting career.

However, she sacrificed her previous life to become a royal — this, too, would be a short-term venture in her life. Indeed, in 2020, Markle and Prince Harry announced they would be taking a departure from royal life, with the possibility of returning being uncertain.

Mel Gibson & Robyn Moore

Photo by Ron Galella/Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images

While they’re no longer together, it’s worth noting Mel Gibson is quite the controversial Hollywood figure. He’s also pioneered big blockbuster hits like Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ, and Apocalypto. As for his former wife, Robyn took to a much more dialed-down career in terms of notoriety.

Not much is known about Moore overall; but she was indeed an accomplished dentist during her marriage to Gibson. And speaking of Mel, he’s been trying to make a comeback in his career amid a relationship with Rosalind Ross — a screenwriter who first started dating Gibson in 2014.

Serena Williams & Alexis Ohanian

Who ever said nerds and jocks couldn’t get along? Well, it’s fair to say tennis superstar — and arguably one of the best female tennis players of all time — Serena Williams and Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian are defying that notion. The couple reportedly first dated in 2015, just before the French Open.

According to Vanity Fair, Serena invited him to hang out before the tournament began, and they walked the streets of Paris together for six hours. Before they knew it, Ohanian became one of Serena’s biggest fans by regularly attending her matches. Eventually, Alexis proposed to her in 2016 in Rome.

George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin

One of the more star-powered celebrity couples on this list, George and Amal Clooney certainly are a nice blend of professionalism and everything one could want in a relationship in terms of integrity. Amal is a humanitarian lawyer and Clooney is, of course, an A-list actor who has appeared in numerous blockbuster hits.

At first, they weren’t looking for a relationship, but sometimes that’s the way these things sort themselves out. The story goes that Alamuddin and a mutual friend of Clooney made a stop by his house; and the two hit it off pretty quickly from there. Together, their net worth is more than $500 million.

Robert Kraft & Ricki Lander

Before buying one of the most dominant sports franchises of the early 21st century, Robert Kraft made quite a lucrative living by getting into the paper manufacturing business. From there, he bought the Patriots in the early ’90s, during which they were an ailing franchise.

While taking the Patriots into the stratosphere in terms of overall value (up to almost $4 billion as of 2019), he also took his dating game to new heights, too, with Ricki Lander. She’s taken to the modeling and even film scene, with one of her biggest roles coming in Ant-Man. She’s also almost 40 years younger than him.

Alec Baldwin & Kim Basinger

Photo by HAL GARB/AFP via Getty Images

Everyone who follows celebrities knows Alec Baldwin (Saturday Night Live appearances, Beetlejuice, The Hunt for Red October, etc.), but what about his former wife, Kim Basinger? For starters, she was indeed immersed in the singing and modeling scene, but her true rise to fame came thanks to her role as “Domino” in the James Bond film entitled Never Say Never Again in 1983.

But she hasn’t let time keep her from being a part of some major hits. She’s also appeared in Fifty Shades Darker, which came out as a sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, in 2017. And in spite of the subpar reviews, it performed well at the box office, grossing about $381 million globally.

Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth

One of the more adorable and genuine love stories on this list, it turns out Jim Toth came swooping in at just the right time with one of the most notorious Hollywood actresses of the 21st century. Apparently, it takes a brave effort to catch the attention of the likes of Witherspoon, which makes sense given her celebrity status.

The story goes they first met at a party where Toth’s friend was hitting on her while drunk; that’s when Jim came and apologized for his friend’s behavior. From there, they began dating in 2010 and the rest is history. His net worth is said to be around $4 million, while hers is somewhere north of $120 million.

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves

Camila Alves is a successful Brazilian model who started off in the US cleaning houses. When she was 19-years-old, she met her future husband at the beginning of her modeling career at a nightclub in Los Angeles. Six years later, they already had two kids and were ready to tie the knot.

Referring to what took so long in an interview with Camila, she said, “I had to get to the point where I saw [marriage] as more than just the thing to do”. She would elaborate, “I wanted to really want to”.

Padma Lakshmi & Salman Rushdie

Padma and Salman were married for three years before she left him for what she summed up to be “unflattering behavior”. They began their relationship when Rushdie wooed her during a serious illness but later seemed disinterested in her after she began finding success of her own as a model.

She found that she had more value in herself than he ever did. To Rushdie, it was just the idea of having a wife beside him at his beck and call that made him happy rather than a life partner with a mind of her own. Good for Padma, she smartened up and saw that she could do better on her own.

Amancio Ortega & Flora Perez

Pinterest

Cofounder of Zara, Amancio Ortega, has a net worth that’s purported to be around $65 billion as of 2019; but he’s not your average type of billionaire who likes to show off his assets to the public. Surprisingly, the same seems to go for his gorgeous wife, Flora Perez, who certainly adds her fair share to their net worth.

According to Forbes, Ortega is in the top 10 richest people in the world (specifically, sixth). He’s the head of the family, which is also ranked as one of the richest families in the world, too. Reportedly, they are also the richest family in Europe.

Jade Foret & Arnaud Lagardère

Jade Foret jumped full force into her modeling career at the early age of 12, and she’s had quite a successful career to boot. Her big break came about a year later when she was featured on a billboard in Brussels sporting a Levi brand. She eventually met her spouse, business mogul Arnaud Lagardère, after a failed relationship with soccer star Emile Mpenza.

For Lagardère, his net worth has been reported to be around $220 million, thanks to — in part — his involvement with Lagardère Publishing, which employs about 7,000 people and is technically an arm of Lagardère Group.

Charlene Wittstock & Prince Albert

royal_europe_ via Instagram

What eventually became notoriously known as “Monaco’s biggest party in 55 years” — according to The Times of South Africa — was the spectacle of a wedding between Charlene Wittstock and Prince Albert of Monaco. Before their marriage, Charlene was already a woman of high accomplishment, including being a former Olympian swimmer for South Africa-Zimbabwe.

Their wedding took place in 2011, but it was on the backdrop of a swimming competition where the two actually met — in 2000 in Monaco, in which she was involved. As for Prince Albert II, he’s been the ruling monarch for the principality of Monaco since 2005 and is 20 years older than Charlene, too.

Sofia Levander & Daniel Ek

Billionaire and Spotify cofounder Daniel Ek had quite the wedding with his wife, Sofia Levander, in 2016. And the guest list was mighty impressive, even by celebrity standards. In addition to Bruno Mars, who obviously was the wedding singer, Facebook CEO and cofounder Mark Zuckerberg and actor Chris Rock were also in attendance.

Ek’s net worth is somewhere around the ballpark of $2.5 billion, thanks in part to his partial ownership of the music streaming service, which has seen its fair share of progress since its initial public offering in 2018.

Melani Lowman-Walton & Rob Walton

Flickr

Serving as a board member at Walmart, Rob Walton’s net worth is a whopping $53 billion, as of 2019. While not much is known about how the two met or began dating, it’s worthy of note that Rob is about 30 years Melani’s senior, meaning their relationship has one of the biggest age gaps out of all on this list.

The pair officially married in 2005, making it the third marriage for Rob. Melani is very accomplished in her own right, too, with experience in working as a basketball coach, athletic trainer, and commercial real estate agent.

Tamiko Bolton & George Soros

Tamiko Bolton was relatively unknown up until she married billionaire philanthropist George Soros. However, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t built quite the career for herself. For Soros, this marked his third marriage in his lifetime, but this one has so far proven different.

As far as Bolton’s career goes, she is a licensed pharmacist and used to work as an education consultant during the beginnings of her career. Now, she serves as a partner for Soros Fund Management and assists her husband in his business ventures. Their age difference is quite considerable, too, at more than 40 years between the two.

Salma Hayek & François-Henri Pinault

Twitter via @TheSun

One of the cuter couples on this list, Salma Hayek and François-Henri Pinault are some of the most influential titans of the fashion industry. They’re also pretty quiet when it comes to their relationship. According to Oprah, they were also married twice — once in a city hall setting and once in Venice, Italy, surrounded by loads of celebrities.

Of course, Hayek is known as an A-list actor and celebrity (Fools Rush In and Desperado come to mind), but what about Pinault? Turns out he’s a billionaire with a net worth of about $33 billion as of 2019. And he’s very well versed in the fashion industry; he’s a chairman and CEO of Kering, which owns Gucci — one of the most successful fashion brands out there.

Sean Parker & Alexandra Lenas

Photo by Michael Buckner/Getty Images for SXSW

Billionaire and Napster cofounder Sean Parker — who was also Facebook’s first president — is not only lavishly accomplished, with a net worth of about $3 billion, but he is also married to one of the most beautiful women on the planet, Alexandra Lenas. She’s quite the talent, too, with a film appearance in Mr. Considerate in 2011.

However, she’s also known as a successful singer and songwriter, too. You know you’ve made it to the peak of musician accolades when you get to be on MTV, which she has been able to check off her list.

Donna Spangler & Dr. Richard Benveniste

Photo by Donato Sardella/Getty Images for Saks Fifth Avenue

You’ve got to give Dr. Richard Benveniste credit, he’s certainly giving inspiration to all periodontists out there that they, too, can marry an absolute bombshell. His wife, Donna Spangler, is an esteemed actress; she’s appeared most notably in American Poltergeist, Pet Moms, and Beverly Hills Christmas.

It’s probably safe to say Benveniste is living the good life somewhere in California, with his beautiful wife. All the while, he’s working in a lucrative job, too. But perhaps even more amazing: Spangler is in her 50s, but she looks 30 years younger! Here’s to you Benveniste, here’s to you, sir.

Francesca Pascale & Silvio Berlusconi

Photo by Salvatore Laporta/KONTROLAB /LightRocket via Getty Images

This relationship is one of perhaps the most glaring age discrepancies on this list, which Francesca Pascale’s parents weren’t too jazzed about. Their age gap stands at almost 50 years, which is pretty incredible to say the least. Luckily for Silvio, he seems to mask it pretty well.

And while her parents have voiced their disapproval, remarking in an interview with Vanity Fair Italia that, “We admire him too, but he could be your father,” that never stopped her from pursuing Berlusconi, who has a net worth of about $7 billion. In fact, in the same interview, she said, “I have sought him out; I have courted him; I have made him fall in love and get engaged.”
