The average cost of a wedding in the United States is $25,000. With the lower end of that average landing right at $19,000, it’s no wonder fewer people are getting married nowadays. If you’re in love but want to stay out of debt, opt for a smaller wedding. You’ll find that there are more benefits to it than just saving money.

Customization Dreams

With a larger wedding, you have to keep everything pretty standard to stay on budget. That is definitely not the case with smaller ones. Even the tightest of budgets can afford a more diverse menu and unique floral arrangements.

If limiting the quantity of these items isn’t saving you quite enough, consider doing some of the work yourself. You can order wholesale flowers for much less than what you’d pay a florist. Simply arrange them in cheap vases with a lace wrap. No one will know the difference.

Intimacy Is Key

Weddings can become very stressful for a bride. You want to make sure everyone is having a good time, so you forget to let yourself have fun. Having a smaller wedding reduces this stress.

Only the people you really care about will be there, so the pressure is off. You’ll probably also avoid a lot of the issues that come with larger catering and floral orders. The smaller the amount, the fewer chances there are for mistakes.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Another thing that is great about a small wedding is the time you will have to spend with the ones you care about. Instead of wading through a crowded sea of congratulations, you can dance all night with your closest friends.

You’ll also find that you actually have time to eat, which most brides don’t. Fewer guests mean less stress, but you’ll also save money. You’ll need fewer speakers, less food, and a smaller venue. Small weddings really are the best of both worlds.
